The Economics and Industry Development Division (EID) is one of the divisions within the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) which is in charge of conducting economic research and statistical analysis on production, marketing, and new technologies in the oil palm industry as well as disseminating information on the performance of the Malaysian oil palm industry.

We do our best to facilitate the development of the Malaysian oil palm industry with strong growth potential and fundamentals and provide a good understanding of the current state and outlook of the industry for policy formulation and refinement.

We focus on improving the well-being of Malaysians by supporting our oil palm industry to become more productive, resilient and sustainable. We use our expertise to develop the strategic direction of national development priorities, highlight the strategic opportunities that enable economic growth and diversification through regional and international partnerships, empower decision-making process through data-driven analysis, develop and nurture the skills necessary to conduct economic analysis, and foster internal capabilities to achieve organisational excellence of the highest calibre.
